Vista1

Mountain scenic views, like this one along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina, rest the eyes, inspire noble thoughts, and restore the soul of all those who treasure mountain landscapes.

May we endeavor to live lives such that others who observe our life story will find rest, inspiration, and restoration.

Dunes by the Sea

Sometimes when the sea waves of life are tossing us about, it is good to take a rest on the dunes. Our dunes may come in the form of talking to a friend. Perhaps, our dunes rest may be a walk in the forest. Have you had your “Dunes” moment lately?

This original oil on panel 1648 painting by Jacob van Ruisdael is titled Dunes by the Sea. Minimal digital image alterations have been made to renew and enhance image.

Rest

As we travel through our life moments, it is important that we take time to rest. As I traveled along this path the bench seemed to call out “rest here”. If we practice listening to our inner voice we will become accustom to this need for rest and learn that it is essential to be at our full readiness in each of our life experiences. When we are well rested, we can be more fully present in the many varied moments and with our interactions.
